The news of Ripple cooperation was published on Thursday in the company's official blog. The blockchain company has announced that its new University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) is aimed at promoting the development of the blockchain technology ecosystem, as well as its implementation in various areas of life.

On February 7, Ripple announced their collaboration with leading universities in the UBRI. According to the report, in 2019, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, Duke, Georgetown, Morgan, Kansas universities, as well as educational institutions from Michigan and the Northeastern United States join this Initiative. Also, at the international level, Ripple begins cooperation with research teams from the National University of Singapore and the University of São Paulo.
Recall that last month Ripple also announced a collaboration with the Institute for Fintech Research, Tsinghua University (THUIFR). Now, THUIFR operates at Tsinghua University in Beijing, where the UBRI base is located.

According to representatives of Ripple, as part of the UBRI Initiative, institutions will conduct research, develop and launch training courses, hold conferences and provide scholarships to students involved in the development of the blockchain industry.
"(...) Duke and Georgetown universities will support the expansion of curriculum and teaching, research, technical projects and cooperation between disciplines (...) The University of São Paulo will receive funding for the blockchain's innovative research program."
Ripple company stated that it began to cooperate with 10 universities. According to Ripple, thanks to new additions to the program, the total number of University Initiative partners is already more than 30.
