2019 CFTC fines

According to the CFTC annual financial report for 2019, the figure became almost 40% higher than in 2016 and amounted to $1.3 billion.

“The breadth and significance of the enforcement activity in FY 2019 is reflected in the fact that the filed cases involved some of the most significant commodities fraud, manipulation, and spoofing cases in the history of the agency,” said James MacDonald, CFTC Executive Director.
