Tether promised to donate $1 million to help the victims of Hurricane Dorian, which devastated the northwestern Bahamas and caused significant damage to the southeastern United States and Atlantic Canada.
Unveiling the news on Twitter Tuesday, Tether said the donation will be through a non-profit charity called Deltec Cares, which helps survivors of a hurricane in the Bahamas region.
It is noteworthy that this is the first ever Tether charitable initiative. It is also interesting to note that the company had banking relations with Deltec Bank & Trust Limited, whose headquarters are located in the Bahamas.
Tether also invited its customers to support donations at Tether (USDt) at these two addresses: USDt Omni and USDt ERC-20.
"All contributions will be sent to Deltec Cares (in US dollars or cash) to help those in need recover from the devastation," – Tether said.
