Call from the thieves

A cold call came to the residents. The fraudster, pretending to be a government official working in the office of the social security administration, requested payments in Bitcoins, prepaid gift cards and bank transfers.

New York police notified the public about the Bitcoin-thieves. The New York City Police Department reported that they received more than 200 complaints with losses totaling more than $ 2 million.
