On April 4, Vitalik Buterin entered into a debate on cryptocurrency in Seoul. A public discussion took place between the developer of Ethereum and "Dr. Doom" Nouriel Roubini. This was told by the journalist Mike Dudas.
At the Deconomy 2019, South Korean blockchain-conference, Vitalik Buterin discussed the future of cryptocurrencies with the well-known economist Nouriel Roubini, known under the pseudonym "Dr. Doom". During the debate, Roubini spoke about the impossibility of fully decentralizing the financial market, and Buterin drew attention to the "privacy" of personal capital.

Debate between Buterin and Dr. Doom
Roubini and Buterin began to debate about cryptocurrency in Seoul. According to Roubini’s comments: "(...) there will be no anonymity in this area. Even in countries such as Argentina and Venezuela (...), they (kleptocrats) will do everything so that assets are registered. They will want to tax your cryptocurrency state or withdraw it (...) like the traditional financial system "
In turn, Buterin said that even if the cryptocurrencies disappear, people are already too accustomed to the "privacy" of their capital. At the same time, Buterin also expressed his emotion about the centralization of the market of "common" finances: "I’m really worried about what will happen if we end up moving to the mass centralized online payments platform and everything happens through Apple Pay, WeChat Pay and Facebook Pay."
Roubini or "Dr. Doom" is an opponent of cryptocurrency assets and market decentralization. Debate with Buterin because of different views last for several years. Last autumn, Buterin published a post about an imminent crisis, in response to which Roubini suggested that the creator of Ethereum "shut up and not talk about what he doesn’t understand."

Vitalik Buterin spoke out against Dr. Doom and began a debate on the decentralization of the cryptocurrency market. Recall that last month, Buterin said he wanted to increase the scalability of Ethereum to 100,000 transactions per second. In addition, the creator of Ethereum was seen in the discussion about the Ripple cryptocurrency.
