The cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has received an electronic money license from the Central Bank of Ireland, located in Dublin.
License for Coinbase
Zeeshan Feroz, CEO of Coinbase UK, announced the news on his blog on Friday, stating:
“The approval from the Central Bank of Ireland will now enable us to expand our Irish operation and deliver a better product to customers across some of our fastest-growing markets. It will also allow us to secure passporting for our customers across the EU and EEA.”
Access will allow firms registered in the European region to conduct business in any participating country without the need for authorization from each country.
"Europe is a huge opportunity for Coinbase," Feroz said.
