At a conference on Wednesday organized by the French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR), central bank manager Francois Villeroy de Galhau stated:
“We want to start experimenting as soon as possible and announce the launch of projects before the end of the first quarter of 2020.”
According to Villeroy de Galhau, France is interested in promoting innovation in the field of digital currencies. However, he also warned that the country needs to experiment “seriously and methodically” with new technologies.
