Digital currency studies in Switzerland
SNB announced the news on Tuesday, stating it has signed an operating agreement with BIS to open a center in Switzerland, which will conduct research on the digital currency project.
“The digital money form will be directed at facilitating payments on tokenized assets between financial institutions,” the Swiss National Bank said.
The project is currently developing a concept validation in partnership with the Swiss stock exchange SIX Group and SIX Digital Exchange (SDX).
