Apple vs cryptocurrency
“I really believe that the currency should remain in the hands of countries. I’m not happy with the idea of creating a rival currency by private groups,” Cook said in an interview with French Les Echos financial newspaper, published on Friday.
Last month, Apple Pay Vice President Jennifer Bailey announced that the company is eyeing cryptocurrencies, thinking that it can be interesting and that it has “long-term potential”. But Cook seems to have left this idea behind.
“Currency, like defense, must remain in the hands of countries.”
