The Government of Ukraine is seriously considering the legalization of digital currencies in the country, according to a report by Ukrainian news agency Ligamedia.
Cryptocurrencies in Ukraine
Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, Oleksandr Bornyakov, said in a recent presentation that Minister Mykhaylo Fedorov would allow the legalization of cryptocurrencies in the near future. Bornyakov stressed that cryptocurrency is currently not illegal in Ukraine.
The government is sure that taking clear measures to legalize cryptocurrency will benefit Ukraine through taxation.
According to Bornyakov, "people who are involved in cryptocurrencies will have to start paying taxes."
In the future, he sees that Ukraine will be able to "make money off of cryptocurrency."
