Cybersecurity Legend McAfee tweeted an image from an article stating that Cuban authorities are currently consulting with scientists about the possibility of using crypto in the country's "national and international commercial transactions".

McAfee claims that the country will be able to use cryptocurrency to circumvent the "economic strangulation" caused by decades of US sanctions and believes that this is an important "real world application."

Interestingly, many followers of McAfee opposed this support of Cuba. Not everyone in the libertarian faction of the crypto-community, of which McAfee is one of the most prominent members, believes that helping the socialist regime is contrary to its policies.

McAfee responded to criticism, insisting that millions of Cubans are in poverty because of US policy, and that he wants to do everything possible to put an end to this situation.

Cryptocurrency-enthusiast John McAfee offered his services to the Cuban government. Recall that on July 3rd, John McAfee published the results of a curious vote on who Satoshi Nakamoto is. According to the information, Chuck Norris won three times as many votes as the pseudo-Satoshi Craig Wright.
